Product Review: Chomps Snack Sticks

Like me, I'm sure you noticed the deluge of posts, tweets, Facebook statuses and Instagram pictures coming from your friends (or maybe you too!) that have decided to make a dietary change as part of their new year.  Whole30 seems to be the most frequent diet chosen.  I haven't tried it myself...but I can see the draw!

I was recently offered the opportunity to receive and review Chomps Snack Sticks.  Given that tastebuds vary, I decided to bring a few friends and my dad along for the ride! When I opened my sample package of Chomps Snack Sticks, one of the first things I noticed was that it was Whole30 approved.

What Are Chomps All About!?

Chomps Snack Sticks are new healthy snacks that recently hit the market and has quickly become quite popular in the Gluten Free, Paleo and Crossfit communities.  We use only the best 100% Grass-Fed Beef and the sticks are cured naturally.  Chomps are free of synthetic nitrates, nitrites and MSG. They're shelf stable for a whole year and the only natural preservative used is celery juice!
I'll be honest - beef sticks wouldn't be my first choice when looking for a snack.  But the more I read about these little morsels, the more interested I became.  They are 100% grass fed beef, nitrate and nitrite free, have no MSG, are 9g of lean protein per serving and use celery juice as their preservative!

On to the taste test!

First we tried the Original flavor.  I noticed right away that they didn't have the greasy feeling of other beef sticks that are commercially available.  We all (Jeanne, Rachel, dad and myself) agreed that they taste good! The spices come across well, and they're a little smokey. They are a bit softer than you might expect...think slightly firmer than a hot dog.

Next was the Hoppin' Jalapeno.  This was by far the favorite!  You can see the little bits of jalapeno in each beef stick, and the flavor is spicy without being overwhelming. They're just good!

Last was the Crankin' Cran.  I admit, I didn't look at the full ingredient list before tasting and was expecting something slightly sweet. At first, that's what you get too...but this flavor has habanero pepper in it.  The flavor of those peppers builds, and builds, and builds.  Unless you LOVE hot food, I wouldn't recommend this flavor.  The cranberry flavor is a good pairing with the beef, and wish it was more balanced with the habaneros.

All in all - I think that Chomps Snack Sticks are something that I'd recommend to my friends who are looking for a tasty snack that is Whole30 and Paleo friendly.

Product Review: OZ Naturals

When my birthday rolled around last month, it hit me that I didn't have a strong skin care routine. Or any defined skincare routine at all.  I've been lucky. While my skin is very sensitive, there are only a few tiny laugh lines. However, I knew that someday, I'd wake up and *bam* there would be the wrinkles that had been sitting in wait.  The time to act was NOW...

When I was chosen to try OZ Naturals - Hyaluronic Acid Serum for Skin, it was the kick I needed to start taking better care of my skin.  After my bottle of OZ Naturals arrived, I waited another few days to try it.  I got nervous that my sensitive skin would make using a new product as difficult (or downright impossible) as has happened with a few other products.

Two weeks ago, I finally opened the package.  Part of me was hoping for instant changes, while the other part was expecting just to start a routine to prevent the wrinkles from arriving.  A few days in, those few wrinkles started to disappear!  Then I got a comment from a friend at the gym that my skin was glowing...and this was before the "glistening" that comes from a good workout.

The only minor downside is that it seems to have faded some of my freckles a bit.  This is a total plus for a lot of people - I just happen to LOVE my freckles!

As both an animal lover and a small business owner, I'm also really happy to say that this serum is natural, organic, NOT tested on animals and is made in the United States!

It's safe to say that I'm going to keep using OZ Naturals - Hyaluronic Acid Serum for Skin

Initials Inc. Product Review and PARTY!!!

I met Sonya a while back through Twitter.  Recently, she started as an Independent Consultant for Initials Inc.  When she tweeted about it - I was immediately intrigued.  A few clicks online and I wanted everything in sight!!!  So when Sonya gave me the opportunity to do a product review, I jumped right on it! With Christmas right around the corner - Sonya and I thought it was a great time for an online party too!

She gave me a great list of things to choose from, and ultimately I got SQUARED AWAY (in Vinings) with pink embroidery.  It's "me", don't you think?!  I'm sure it's no surprise to you - but I use it to organize knitting projects that I'm working on.  So much prettier than the plastic bag I was using.  :-)
There are so many amazing things at Initials Inc.! Shipping is fast!  My favorite part of Initials Inc is that almost everything can be personalized...and personalization is FREE!!!! You heard that right - free.  Not only that, but you have multiple fonts and thread colors to choose from.  I can't be alone in embracing the Preppy - Southern - highly organized desire to have things monogrammed.  Right?!

Every have the problem where you and a few of your besties come to the same party with the same shopping/tote bag?  Get the STORY TIME tote personalized, and you'll never have the problem again.

Better yet, get THE DISH and not only will your food arrive to parties still the right temperature - it will arrive with style.

Trying to get your kiddos to put their laundry in the hamper?  Having one with their name on a BIG BIN might be just the motivation they need!

Trying to keep your mail and coupons sorted? I'm a big fan of the MARVELOUS MAGNETIC POCKET.  Pop it on the fridge and you're ready for your next trip to the store!

I really hope that you'll take a few minutes to peruse Sonya's site and possible order a few holiday gifts. :-) Go to Sonya’s Initials Inc. page, and click on “Shop” or “My Events”. Then simply click on “Shop Now” and shop to your heart's content! When you check out, keep in mind that the items will be sent directly to your front door, so enter your shipping address (and phone number for any order issues) accordingly.

There's also a great Customer Shoportunity in November!  Spend $35 and get one of their CINCH DUFFLES for $16.50 - That's 50% off!!

If you have any questions, please reach out to Sonya at sonyajsells@gmail.com.  Have fun shopping!

Product Review: SodaStream (and a GIVEAWAY!)

I am in love with my SodaStream!! For quite a while I've been trying to get away from hauling soda bottles to and from my house, as well as bottles of carbonated water.  Plus, I feel so guilty.  Think of all the bottles that we throw away or that we hope get recycled each day.  I'm trying to find ways to be more "green".

The folks at SodaStream were nice enough to let me review the "Genesis" model of their product.  In fact, two very large boxes showed up on my step, and I was like a little kid on Christmas Day unpacking the goodies that they had shipped me.  Not only did they provide me the "Genesis", but a plethora of different flavored soda/water concentrates as well.  I was thrilled!!

Set up for the SodaStream was a breeze.  Seriously!  Take the machine out of the box, pop in the CO2 canister, fill one of their bottles to the fill line, screw it onto the machine and press the carbonation button on the top of the machine, unscrew and add your desired flavor concentrate.  Did you notice that I didn't list "plug in the machine" as a step?!?!  Can I even tell you how happy I am that it's one kitchen appliance that doesn't require electricity?  Because of that, this little beauty has been used in the kitchen, on the porch, and even outside!

Now, let's talk about flavors.  This is where it gets fun.  :-)  Their version of Root Beer is super yummy, and I love their MyWater Essence flavors (I haven't tried the mint yet...but I will!).  I love that their line of "sparkling naturals" don't contain any artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.  But, by far - my favorite is their Pomegranate Peach Green Tea.  Soooo good!  And JC is in love with their Energy Drink.  No more $3 per energy drink for him!

Which brings me to the topic of money.  The money I've saved in bottle deposit, and purchasing soda/bottled carbonated water has been considerable.  So much that I likely could have bought another SodaStreams by now.  Each of the flavor concentrate bottles runs from $4.99 to $9.99 and makes twelve or so liter bottles. The MyWater Essences makes about 20 liter bottles.  Eventually, I'll need to exchange the carbonator as well.  You heard me right - EXCHANGE.  SodaStream will let you exchange the empty CO2 cartridge for a new full one for a small fee - and provides you with local locations where you could exchange the cartridge as well.  Given that it takes time to ship your empty canister back and get a new one (not even considering the cost of shipping), I would highly recommend that you go to a local store and exchange your CO2 canister.

Here's the best part:

The fine folks at SodaStream provided me with the "Genesis" to review - AND gave me the "Fountain Jet" to give away to one of you lovelies!!  How cool is that?!?! Additionally, I will let you choose one flavor (Ginger Ale, Cola, Diet Lemon Lime or Root Beer)to try.

Coming Soon - A Product Review

I've never done a product review, and am so excited that Living Rooms Direct contacted me to do one on kitchen furniture (and accents)!

There's a first time for everything and this site has some amazing things. I know what you're thinking. Wait, if this place is called Living Rooms Direct - how did you get asked to review kitchen accents? You know, I don't understand the full progression & understand that it links to Kitchen Accents Direct... am really happy they asked me. Everything on their site looks so great.

What will I review? I don't know. There are a few things that really interested me, but I asked to be surprised.
When will I do the review? I'm not sure. It depends on what they send me and when it arrives.
Do I promise to be honest? YES!! I will tell you all the good, the bad and the ugly. (I'm really hoping that nothing classifies as bad or ugly though.)

I leave you with a few things that I saw and loved....

I can't wait to see what they send me!!
