Tuesdays At The Table - Hazelnut & Chocolate Chip Brownies

Happy Tuesday! It's just another yummy day in the bloggy neighborhood! (Crud, now I have Mr. Roger's theme song running through my head...hahaha)

Andrea posted today! Please swing on by and wish her well as she gets through her first trimester. :-)

This is my brownie recipe. I've got nothing against the box fact, I use it from time to time too... but these brownies went quick at Kirstren's cook-out. The best part of this is that you can mix in anything you want!

Hazelnut & Chocolate Chip Brownies

1 cup margarine or butter
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup all-purpose flour or unbleached flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/2 teaspoon salt
8 ounces chocolate chips (dark, semi-sweet, milk)
1 cup nuts (hazelnuts, walnuts, pecans)

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13 by 9-inch pan. In medium saucepan over low heat, melt margarine. Add sugar, vanilla and eggs; blend well. Stir in flour, cocoa and salt; mix well. Add chocolate and nuts. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until set. Cool and cut into bars.

What's cooking in your kitchen?

    Justine :o )

  6. Thanks for hosting :)

Brownies are always a nice treat!

  7. I think homemade brownies are better than boxed. I was using the exact recipe that you posted, and the kids at my daughter's school deemed those brownies the best they ever had. That said, since we have moved, I have not bought baking ingredients, and have been using mixes. I know, I am a bad mommy. I will go back to from scratch soon.

  8. I am without a doubt a chocoholic!!

Brownies and a cold glass of milk, yummy, yummy!

  9. Those brownies sound yummy! Once the last of my boxed brownies are used up, I'm definitely going to try this recipe.

  10. Yum! I love brownies and hazelnuts. I can't wait ot try these. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment.

  11. Hey Cole. I am a new follower, but have been checking out the Tuesdays at the Table first at Andrea's blog and now here, for a while.

Those brownies sound super yummy. I don't have too much of a sweet tooth, but I have such a weakness for brownies!
