Thirty Days of Thankful - Comedy

I'm of the opinion that there is ALWAYS something to laugh about, if you just take a minute to look around and find it.  I love to laugh.  I'm such a geek, and the dumbest things make me laugh.  Life would be miserable if I couldn't laugh! My goal is to have my cubicle makes ask me what the hell is so funny at least once a week.

Here are a few of my favorite comedians these days.  Are you familiar with them?  Have any I should take a look at?

Even though I don't have human kids, this is one of my favorite routines.  I die laughing!

Sorry...I had this set up to show you videos, but Blogger is being naughty and keeps stripping them out!

If you can get through this bit by Jimmy Carr on annoying things, I envy you!
Bill Engvall always gives me a good giggle!
Trevor Noah is great for a laugh (and sometimes comedy that makes you think...).

Lastly, Matt Bellassai of Buzzfeed videos don't seem to embed for me all that well...so I'm just going to tell you to click HERE and go watch some of his "whine about it" episodes! I look for a new episode every Wednesday!

Five on Friday...

Happy Friday!  Lately, it seems like an accomplishment to have made it through the week.  Am I alone in feeling that way?

I'm linking up with the lovely April again this week.  :-)

A few days ago, I took the plunge and started a Facebook page for Weiner Tales!  Click on my little social media button and it will take you there now instead of to my personal profile.  :-)

Have you seen the videos that Sean Hayes and his husband Scott do?  They never cease to bring a smile to my face!  Flo Rida liked the one they did of  "I Don't Like It" so much that he put it on his YouTube channel.  You can see them all on Sean's Facebook page.

Is it weird that I'm ready for fall so my favorite TV shows come back and to check out all the new shows premiering?  I'm so excited to see the new Muppets, for Marvel's Agents of Shield to come back and Scorpion too!  What shows are you looking forward to?

Have you heard of David's Tea?  They are a Canadian company that just opened a location in the shopping plaza between my office and my house (a distance of less than three miles) and given my new obsession with iced tea...it's a dangerous thing!  I'm catching the tail end of their $1 tea program for the summer and drinking my way through their tea wall.  Someone stop me!

Last...I saw this, and couldn't help but smile.  Happy Friday, everyone!

A Girl Walks Into a Gym...

Last week when I casually mentioned to you all that I had joined a gym, and I was going to break myself in "easy" with water aerobics - I thought my class was going to look a little like this...

...and that I would end the class feeling like I got a good stretch and should swim laps for "actual" exercise!  Oh. good. grief. was I wrong!  It was more like an hour of aqua zumba - more along the lines of this...

I also knew beforehand that the instructor was one of my foster mom from the rescue and opted to see if she noticed on her own.  Really, I didn't want to draw attention to my lack of hand-eye coordination!  I didn't even make it into the pool before she yelled me name and declared that she was going to make my first class special.  At that point, other people in the class came over and told me that she already makes a point of kicking people's butts, and they may not like me after class.  Good news - at least a few of them are still talking to me!

When I looked at the class schedule, I noted that the morning classes are 45 minutes and naturally presumed that the evening classes would be the same length.  I was thrilled at the 30 minute mark that I almost made it. Um, mere seconds later, was a declaration that we were HALFWAY through the hour class.  Apparently, I made quite the face at my friend/instructor!

Now that I've learned that I actually do need to hydrate even if I'm in water, I'll be going back tonight.  This time, the evening class is taught by a different instructor.  Wish me luck!

Are there any other "fun" excercises/classes that I should try?

Five on Friday - Independence Day

Happy Independence Day!!!  I'm finding that I'm really starting to look forward to the Five on Friday link-up with April. There are so many really great bloggers that linked up that I can go visit!

I love fireworks! Before my brother's deployment, he loved fireworks too.  Unfortunately, he came back from Afghanistan, like many others with PTSD.  This makes fireworks difficult for a lot of our current soldiers and veterans.  If you have a veteran or currently enlisted soldier in your neighborhood, please consider talking to them.  Knowing when you anticipate setting off fireworks won't take away their PTSD, but may give them time to leave or utilize coping mechanisms.

Did you know that the 5th of July is one of the busiest days of the year for shelters?  Fireworks are scary for many pets, which triggers their fight or flight response.  Be sure to keep your furbabies inside and safe while you enjoy the fireworks!

In case you were wondering...this is what the 4th of July looks like at my office!

If you haven't dropped by my blog this week, you haven't heard about my Jamberry giveaway yet!  You can enter to win two sheets of Jamberry nails of your choice on this post!

I came across this berry popsicle recipe and can't wait to try it!  How festive and yummy looking, right?!

Have a fabulous weekend weekend, everyone!

You Found Me....HOW?!?!

It's been a while since I looked at the analytics for my blog.  Always good for a giggle!  Right?

Following are my just a sampling of how people wandered onto ye olde blog:

  1.  Hooters.  I'm just going to presume that you were looking for a way to replicate their chicken wing recipe.  MMkay?
  2. Red Sox crap.  OK, OK...they really did have a craptastic year.  I admit it.
  3. Super hot shirtless guys.  Well, that's pretty darn specific.  Sorry you couldn't find that here!
  4. Happy endings.  Please, please, please tell me you were looking for the sitcom.  Otherwise...ick!  You are NOT finding that here.
  5. Real weiners.  Given my new blog name, I'm not horribly surprised.  However, I'm still having to shovel my mind out of the gutter.
  6. Thrones.  Why, yes, I am royalty!  Thanks for noticing!
  7. Visiting Boston.  Yep, that one is actually legit.
  8. How to make flip flops. Hmm...if you figure it out, let me know.  I blew out my right flip flop on Monday.
  9. Food or jewelry.  Why choose, people?!  Have your cupcake and your diamond studs too!
  10. Do dogs have thumb nails.  If you're the one that found me that way - I feel compelled to answer you.  No, dogs do NOT have thumb nails...or thumbs for that matter.

Happy Easter!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend full of family, friends and maybe an Easter egg roll or two (&the resulting candy, of course).  :-)

I will share that I almost ran over the Easter bunny at the local garden center this morning.  It's nobody's (or nobunny's) fault, per se.  The poor thing is in a full body costume and stepped into traffic!  Everything is fine...but it sure got my adrenaline pumping for a few minutes! You know what I thought in that split second?!  Not "OMG, I'm going to run over the Easter bunny!", but "OMG, my *dogs* are going to see me run over the Easter bunny!".  Yes, I'm weird.

Happy Easter!!

If You Drunk Dial....

...I AM going to mess with you!!!

Friday night I had the distinct *honor* of being drunk dialed by the same person four times between 1:45 and 2:30 in the morning.  Luckily, I'm an insomniac and was wide awake.  Unluckily (for him), I found this really funny and decided that to have some fun.

1:48 (Number I don't recognize)
Me: Um...hello?
Him: Hi babeeeeee.
Me: Who is this?
Him: Oh, babyyyyy.  Youz zoooo funny. Iz yo man.
Me: Wrong number.  Kthanxbai.

1:59 (Same number)
Me: Yes?
Him: Ah you maaaad at me?
Me: Nope.  I just don't know who you are.  Who are you anyway?
Him: Iz Mike.  *hiccup*  Ya man!
Me: Nope.
Him: But babyyyy.  I loooove you.
Me: Right.  Who are you looking for?
Him: Don't be like dat.  You know I'z looking fa you.
Me: What's my name?
Him: Zara.
Me: Sara?
Him: You know yo name, babyyyy.
Me: Nope.  Not me.  Bai.

2:08
Me: Hi, Mike.
Him: I loooove you baby.
Me: I'm STILL not Sara.
Him: Zara, you my woman.  I lub you zo, zo much.
Me: Mike?!  I'm not Sara.
Him: You the best woooman ev-ah.
Me: Really?  That's sweet.  Tell me why you love me so much.
Him: You haz the prettiest hairz.  Is red, but brown, but red.
Me: Auburn?
Him: Hmph.  Zo pretty. Like fi-ah.
Me: And?
Him: You so un-dumb
Me: Anything else?
Him: You haz the biggest boobies (he used a different word).
Me: Good to know.  But I'm still not Sara and I'm watching a movie.

2:24
Me: Hi Mike.  I'm still not Sara and if you keep calling, I'm going to keep laughing.
Him: But I loooove you.  Why can't I callz you?
Me: Mike, if you keep calling me I'm going to track down your girlfriend and make her break up with you.  Or maybe I'll just tell her that you love her flaming auburn hair and her big rack.
Him:You reallly not Zara????
Me: No, I'm really not Sara.  Adios!

He is now saved on my phone as "Mike the drunk dialer". I'm presuming that his girlfriend's number should have been programmed into his phone.  So what I really want to know...is how did he get me to begin with?!
